One of the major issues within Tekashi’s case was him involving others, using names during is testimonial in court. This caused an uproar across the country from fans to other hip hop artists. For example a well known rapper “YG” released an extremely popular song called “Stop Snitching”, in this song he called 69 out for the unjustified use of using others names in order to get witness protection and less time in prison. He was looking at decades in prison but will most likely get a reduced sentence for his cooperation. This act is extremely looked down on by the hip hop community and has lead to him being viewed as a “rat”. This has resulted in a major loss of his fans and supporters.
